I have a chevy s10 and I'm planning on picking up a cab-over camper for the burn. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do for shade; sleep on the floor and use the bed for storage, maybe. Unfortunately I'm not looking for one with a shower, but it will come with sink, stove, and icebox.
I figured a collective discussion about how we're planning to camp would give us a good idea of what kind of footprint we're expecting to have, and help us plan together. For instance, I don't mind in the slightest sharing my stove or sink, so consider a wider range of food stuffs.

I was thinking we could possibly collectively fund(or perhaps piece together) a central shading structure that would be the ideal location to hang out for shade, food and the sort. There are a lot of things I don't want to deal with, and one thing I know for sure is that the playa dust always wins. I don't care for showering, the grey water is just too much to deal with. I will be taking non-scented baby wipes and dry shampoo with me. Keep myself as clean as possible and smelling nifty.
I was thinking of a camp set-up like this
Xx xX X O X Xx xX
X = bigger tents and smaller shades x = smaller tents without shades O= Large shade structure where food is prepared and everyone can chillax.
Just ideas! I'm down for most anything but I do like some organized chaos. Emphasis on organized

I have a 30x30 shade tent that I will be bringing (teepee style)that I am more than happy to share!!...also 2 other sleeping tents that I will be bringing for sleeping and storage. I will also be bringing a shower tent and shower for the use of everyone if needed...I do not have a grey water removal system so if you do need to use the shower please be aware that you will need to take that water with you...I plan on just taking it back out in 5 gallon buckets...should we make a list of everything that we are bringing? Or just the things that are potentially needed to share? ~ Stef

For grey water if you make a platform for your shower made out of black industrial trash bags you can just pull the grey water out into the sun and it'll evaporate. Might be easier to handle.

Sure hope Divreon pops his head up soon. I think evap ponds are officially not recommended these days. www.burningman.com/preparation/event_survival/grey_water.html#.UxUF1M5Ad4Q

I read on one of the boards by a vetran burner, that he used for in the shower (to stand in), a concrete mixing holder. Now I just have to figure out how I get the collected water from the mixer ... to a 5 gallon bucket to take back. If anyone has some ideas please feel free to throw them out I am open to anything!! I was not trying to do anything fancy...lol! THANKS! ~Stef

Splitting off food prep to another thread, as it was mentioned as a "center tent" idea.
