So, I see a lot of artistic ideas, that include the use of a lot of materials. And would result in a lot of clean up.
This being our first Burning Man I think we should scale back on the Grandeur projects, in liue of costly time consuming theatrics I was thinking if anyone would be down to share poetry. We could stop people in their tracks and put out some poetic justice. Maybe even come up with some good poems with the group. Compose them in ones or twos and have multiple poets wording the same poem at different parts.
I am a long time poet myself, and I love to write. One thing i've always wanted to do is share my writings but, now i am not normally shy, I tend to be super nervous about sharing or reading those writings out loud. Burning Man is about radical self-expression. I think it would be the most ideal place to let loose those inhibitions.
Poems can be serious, they can be funny, they can be sexy, romantic, sad, uplifting. Poems can be anything. We've all lived our stories on our own different paths and I think that is a perfect combination to create some extraordinary work.
Plus we can share, as we ourselves take part in what others have to share. Anything that keeps me in camp will be a bit of a bummer. I want to explore, explore and explore. Idk, just an idea! Let me know what you think.

Everyone has something to share we all come from different backgrounds and places....I would LOVE to hear any poetry that you would want to share! This will definitely be the place to let loose on things you might of been to self conscious to share before! ~Stef

I love poetry, but I'm terrible at it. I'll pack some poems to share though. I also wouldn't mind if people want to share their favorites. Personally, I'd rather tell stories. Even if they're short. Maybe communally tell some? With one person starting and the rest of us finishing? Lots of things we can do with little to no materials. We also have some musicians in the group.

My friend Mel who is supposed to be coming with me wanted to bring a milk crate full of instruments which I thought would be a fun idea! Just so everyone knows I am not musically or poetically gifted but I am very Creative so I will make it work! No matter what all of the differences should be fun!~ Stef

If I bring a harmonica, all people are hearing all week will be the star wars theme, and shenandoah. I'd bring an accordion, but not only am I terrible at it, it also wouldn't survive the dust.

Since the forum is SO slow, and this got some interest, I also write poetry. I enjoy rap more, but plenty of my material ends up as poetry instead

I also like to write, and have hoped to fine a place at Burning Man to share some of my thoughts that I have written. Some I call poems. Non traditional, of course. But I also write thought provoking short stories, and essays. If it works out I would love to share some.

I absolutely love short stories, and oral story telling, while I am still working on my skill, is an art that I'm desperately trying to develop.

Tonight, in preparation for burning man, I told stories for two hours straight. I had request after request for more... It was the most rewarding/exhausting thing I've done in awhile... Tired now... Zzz ZzZ zZzz
