So, having considered it for a bit, and as we have at least two people considering taking the Burner Express, and given that many birgins take the Burner Express in general, I was thinking of requesting space NEXT to the burner express area. This means that while we won't be in the center of the world, we will be in an area that isn't highly requested, making it easier to get approval, while being easy for those busing in to join us. Any objections? Any other ideas for WHERE we want to be placed?

Do you think it will get a lot of foot traffic? I don't at all mind the not greatest location...but Im not sure how it works do people get on and off all week? Or is it more like one stop off Monday?

There are buses in and out of BRC all week. They are typically for people who need to run into "town" for necessities. I imagine it will only be a small percentage of people hopping the bus to town, but a small percentage of people out of 60,000+ is still a lot of people.

The burner express area is the area for those who bussed into BM to camp. It's not a huge traffic area, but it's pretty central, if further back.

I saw through that caution out the window. We are adults we can find eachother via map. Have you begun to fill out the camp registration stuff? I know if you are trying to do a camp, which would make certain our space together, you have to do that. Okay i dont "know" lol but I think so.

Here is the map from last year. www.burningman.com/preparation/maps/13_maps/2013_Final_Web_LG.jpg The green space indicates the area reserved for the Burner Express campers. Presuming the Burner Express camping layout will be similar this year, I think any area near there would be fine. It is right in the middle of everything and not too far from center camp, which will be good for people without bikes. I would much rather be centrally located than way out in the corner of the Playa at K & 9:45. Considering the camping area of the Playa is almost 2 miles across from L ring road to L ring road, centrally located is my vote. Knowing where we are going to be ahead of time will be good, because I have a feeling finding a bunch of strangers out on the Playa could be a challenge give the open space and # of people all coming in at the same time. Also, for those of us driving in it is closer to the exit is good, which hopefully translates into less of an exodus wait time.

While I agree with pretty much everything you said I would also like to make sure we are not around too much traffic. I would like to enjoy dark nights under the moon without the constant going and coming of buses and such.
Plus if you create a camp do they not give you a space location?

I check in on this board every once in awhile, you guys are doing great. I think you guys are over thinking location. You won't know where you like until you're out there and even then, it changes every year.
Meeting up with people is very hard. Just make sure your camp has an easy to find sign, and you register your location of your camp once you are settled in.
Most likely you will spend very little time in camp, there is way too much to see and do to spend all the time in camp! If you want dark/quiet nights, those can be found deep in the open playa and on streets L/M/N also. Typically the further back you go from the Esplanade, the quieter and darker it gets. But you never know, some people may camp right next to you with a huge sound systems and lasers. Anything can happen/
