Hey Chuck, Welcome to Birgin Camp. We're not organized, we're not sane, and we're still figuring everything out, but we'd love to have you! -Steve "Divreon" Hoffman Hi I'm Chuck and I'm a birgin. I live in Northern Delaware and I'm considering joining the group. I have family in Las Vegas and I'll be using them as a staging area. I will be shipping camping gear and the like out to them and having them store them for me. Truth be told, I'll probably leave it all with them as well. I probably won't need it again until I'm back on the playa in 2015!

Hey all my name is Mel and I plan to accompany Stefanie (Firedancer07) to Black Rock this year. I have not gotten my ticket yet as I will be trying to obtain one of the few low-income tickets available. I have faith that my request will be approved and that I will be dancing in the dust amongst all of you beautiful people this August.
I am currently awaiting what will be my second kidney transplant so if anyone knows how to make the most of the hand you're dealt, it's me. I'm a great problem-solver and I've had people joke that I'm a modern day female McGuyver so I think I can be of great use on the playa.
I look forward to getting to know all of you in the coming months and then seeing you in person come the end of summer.
Good tidings and blessings to all of my fellow birgins,
Mel

Smiley, I'd never tell anyone they couldn't camp out next to us. It'll be great to have a friendly smiling neighbor.

Hey Fellow Burners,
I am another Noobie burner from the east side of the mitten state. I have already acquired my ticket through the pre-sale, so I am a definite go. I will be driving in, as flying is not an option with my gear. I am looking to camp with a like minded group of people that is drama free and all will contribute something to camp rather than me doing it alone if I camped solo. I bring to the group an open mind, positive attitude and mad MacGyver engineering skills. I am a project manager by trade and truly an avid outdoorsman. I have done a fair share of mild and cold weather camping here in the mitten, so desert camping will be a new but anticipated challenge. I look forward to getting to know you all here and in the dust.

Hello all, my name is Dave, this is my first burn and I'm thinking of joining the camp. I'm 30 and currently living in Winnipeg Manitoba but have lived pretty much coast to coast across Canada. I'll be driving to burning man with my best friend from Toronto (also a birgin) and we're looking for the right camp to join. we plan of being pretty much entirely self reliant but would like to have some people around to get to know and explore with. I plan on bringing two tents and a 10" x 20" or 10" x 25" monkey hut for shade. I am a chef in the default and have no problem pitching in with some camp cooking if that's in the cards. I'm also going to volunteering with the lamp lighters and temple guardians this year. burning man has been an idea for me for the last 12 years when my high school art teacher showed us pictures of his first burn. we are not sure on space yet but may have room to haul some gear down. that being said this is going to be a real adventure so we're making it a 3 1/2 week trip, driving from Winnipeg to Banff, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, and san Francisco over 13 days, the brc, then the 26 hour drive back to Winnipeg lol. two weeks of camping followed by a week of playa...should be a blast. I have some experience in extreme camping ( -35 C) and live in a place where this winter we had temperatures colder then the north poll and the surface of mars ( google it if you don't believe lol) so +42 should be a lot of fun. also I have done some fire spinning in the past and probably will do again at the burn so anyone that wants to learn some basic poi i'll be around.

Hey Dave,
It's great to have you. We're still figuring out who we are as a camp, but feel free to throw ideas out, and let us know what you'd like to see. If you get others who agree, plan together, or if you don't do it yourself. Either way, we'll see you in the dust.
