Welcome Elena! What would your needs be for equipment? I have extra stuff but wasn't sure if I had anything you need...I would be happy to help if I can in any way! I am traveling from Michigan and would love to split costs if possible! Just a possibility! ~ Stef Hi Stefanie, Thank you so much for your friendliness and your support! I will plan my route in the next days and let you know if there's a chance that I come to Michigan, so that we travel from there to Burning Man together! - Would be cool! This weekend I’ll also read thoroughly the survival guide and will plan what I’ll be able to take with me from Germany and also how I could contribute to our Camp I’ll keep you updated!

No need to say thanks, it's your decision, and no one elses.

Another unique person here. First of all, I am older than anyone else that has posted here, when someone comes here close to my age I’ll fess up just “how old”. For now I’m just the “Oldest”. I don’t have a ticket yet. I got on STEP in the first half hour, so will see how that works out. I have read about Burning Man for years and been interested. My Daughter got married a number of years ago and her husband broke her in to Burning Man. They have been quite a number of times. We have often talked of me joining them some year, but things just didn’t work out. Finally it looks like this will be the year, if I get a ticket. Because of other reasons it may also be Their last trip to BM. My wife is not interested at all, so it will be just me. So, you may ask, why would I want to join a newbie group if my daughter and son-in-law are going to be there? We had discussions about that. They are with a group that has gotten together over the years. I have met most of them and they are great people. But they are also established in their group, and wondered if I would really be comfortable around them really “doing their thing”. Not to mention that they would probably be uncomfortable with me there. Then we discussed the things I was looking forward to getting involved with, and we wondered the same thing. Do we Really want to see each other “being themselves.” And if we did, would we be able to enjoy the “Real” Burning Man experience, or would we be worried about each other? So the agreement was that I was welcome to go, but couldn’t camp with them, which also suited me. We would have times when we got together, but mostly we would all be free to be ourselves without feeling responsible for each other. (if all that makes sense).
I have read all the negative advice for this, but weighing everything, I Will be bringing my motorhome to Burning Man. (again, I don’t need any negative feedback about that, my mind is made up) So I will be offering some AC time in the motor home to those who can’t find a place to cool off. I like the idea of first timers getting together. Despite what some “experienced” Burners have said, I think it can be a great experience learning together. There will be no one telling us what we are doing wrong. ☺ I live in Colorado, by the way. I will be driving out, of course.

Age is just a number as far as I am concerned "Dreamchaser" and you are never too old to chase your dreams. I am just a lowly member of this group, going in with no expectations and caution to the wind so my opinion may not matter in the grand scheme of things but I would be glad to have you as a neighbor! I certainly hope you get a ticket through the STEP program and you will be out on the playa dancing in the dust with us all!

Melissa, the point of this group is that there are no lowly members! Everyone here is equal. All I did was setup a free forum, and propose the idea. If others hadn't come around thinking it was a good one, we wouldn't have a camp, we'd have me with a tent. So decide what you want out of this camp, and make it happen. I want a group of interesting people who will share my sense of wonder and confusion over the experience we are about to share, given that I now have that, I'm willing to help and push any other ideas that sound fun and help others enjoy birgin camp. The name, and even the purpose of the camp, is not set in stone. If people want to change anything they can. That's what it means to own a camp, and this camp is owned by all of us.

Hello All. Looking to join the Birgin camp. This will be my first time at BM. I have know about it for years and always wanted to go since high school but as with most things, life got in the way. This was the year that I said no matter what I am going. Now with my ticket in hand I can't wait to get down there. I will be making my way from Belleville, Ontario.
Next big hurdle is planning and making sure I have everything I need. Good times. Well if there is any thing else you want to know just ask.
See ya on the Playa!!
Shawn.

hello universe, how are you feeling right now?
I am a fellow birgin who is coming from the west coast of Canada. I have been yearning to go to this festival for 3 years now and 2014 has become the year. I am beyond excited for thew journey to get there, and to be on the playa. I am trying my best to find a theme camp, and people to congregate with. I am a musician, just travelling the big ol' world. I have such good feelings towards BM and what this trip has in store for me. Anyone out there that I can connect with regarding a theme camp?
Peace and Love

Hey all, my name is Jack. I currently reside in Sydney, Australia and 2014 will be my first burn. After years of looking through photos of BRC and hearing the many stories I decided this was my year. I have been seeking some guidance/advice but it seems in the wrong places. All I have been is ridiculed which I thought was very odd for a community that I thought was free open minded and welcoming. Until I found this forum. Reading through these posts, a group like you is just what I need for my first burn. I know I have left it abit late but am willing to do whatever is needed on and off the playa to help out. Myself and my best mate are backpacking around Europe for two months before the burn and will no doubt have MAAANY stories that will be worth sharing. So if your up for 2 charismatic, fun loving, willing to work hard Australian males? Please let me know Regards from all the way in Australia. Jack
